3,000,000 - the number of Americans who may have T1D
85% - the percentage of people in the U.S. living with T1D who are adults (children will not "outgrow" T1D)
30,000 - the number of people who are diagnosed with T1D in the U.S. every year - approximately 15,000 children and 15,000 adults (a new diagnosis happens every 20 minutes)
23% - the increase in T1D incidence in people under age 20 between 2001-2009
