Alpha Gamma Delta's International Convention was held in Orlando, Florida from July 13-16, and Greater Raleigh Alumnae Chapter received four major honors at the Awards Luncheon. The chapter was presented with the highest honor that can be bestowed upon an alumnae chapter in the Fraternity: the Alumnae Achievement Award. This award recognizes alumnae chapters whose accomplishments have been truly exceptional during the biennium and that have achieved excellence in the areas of collegiate support, Panhellenic involvement, sisterhood, community service, philanthropy, operations, and programming.
The chapter also received the International Philanthropy Award, which is presented to one alumnae chapter that has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the Fraternity’s philanthropic focus of diabetes awareness and education through specific related community service efforts, healthy living programming, fundraising in support of the Foundation, or a combination of such.
Additionally, the chapter was named to the Honor Roll for the Joy of Service Award, which is presented to the alumnae chapter that has demonstrated outstanding support of community service through hands-on service, fundraising, participation, or a combination of such world’s work in the communities where they are placed. The chapter was also named to the Honor Roll for the Adopt-a-Chapter Award, which is presented to alumnae chapters who demonstrate good and consistent communication with their adopted chapters, along with a variety of activities done with and for the collegians.
